VF Series 2 V8 Fuel Consumption

My vf2 idles at around 3.2l/hr and drops to around 2.8 after driving for around 2-4min. Is this similar to what others are seeing, im getting less than 400km (~380) to a tank, granted its quick trips (less than 10km) 90% time, but concerned something not right as i used to get 450-500km...

Stage 1 (OTR / headers) tune results

Cool thats a decent change. What cam if you dont mind saying ? Lumpy ? Ive still got stock exhast cat back w/bi modals. You have tri-y or 4 into 1's (1 3/8 or 1 7/8)

Stage 1 (OTR / headers) tune results

Nah wasnt in carrum downs ;) Tuner was gonna wait but decided to tune it as it was gonna be hotter next day. How much would this have an affect on tune ? Said probably wouldve got 290 rwkw on a cooler day but i just thought was passing comment.

Stage 1 (OTR / headers) tune results

Thanks for reply. Yeah considering cam but mostly to get more torque rather than top end rwkw. Supercharger obvious choice but then just moving into crazy territory Atm got really poor fuel economy not sure why. Getting less than 400km to a tank driving like a grandma (lot of short trips...

Stage 1 (OTR / headers) tune results

Thanks. Yeah took it back had a hole in left cat so that didnt help. Have shot a msg and will get them to check again. Wasnt really asked what i wanted out of it, but being noob wouldnt have known anyway. Looking at dyno chart the AFR seems odd comparing to others on dyno thread. The AFR is...

Aftermarket Cats advice with HSV exhaust setup

100 cel maybe (doubt it, it is when you floor it) but remember the key reason to keeping bimodal you can always turn off and its quiet as hell. Then just have it on when you're driving solo. Mate i have a family they love it. No complaints of noise. Except when i come home (its very loud on...

Aftermarket Cats advice with HSV exhaust setup

I have a wagon, would make stuff all difference probably fraction louder than sedan as boot is empty Yeah exhausts is both known and unknown science. If you throw things together not always gonna get what y oui u want. Took a gamble worked for me. The R8 headers i believe are try-y also so...

Aftermarket Cats advice with HSV exhaust setup

Left it factory from cats. The sound in cabin is lot less than outside, but 100 cel would be louder again. As long as you are doing under 2800rpm or not accelarating enthusiastically the bimodal shuts off and its like a quiet family car (even at speeds above 100....a "friend" tells me ) in...

Aftermarket Cats advice with HSV exhaust setup

I have 200's on vf2 calais v, went from stock to genie try-y 200 cel and factory bimodal cat back. Difference in sound was significant. Point of the story turning off bimodal is significantly quieter. No different to what it would sound like with stock and bi modal off. Zero drone also with...

    Sway bar upgrade

No, no Nah no suspension control (MY16) Yeah i figured the whole package needs to be matched. Was looking to put king springs (low) to bring it down 25mm and then just trying to suss struts/shocks to match. Hard to decide when cant feel the change before the purchase but the calais just...

    Sway bar upgrade

Hi Smitty Yeah did that just says STD but you're right i suspect also that its FE1.5 "luxury suspension". Problem is i cant find anywhere what the specs for that are. Not sure if STD dampers will be ok with say FE3 swaybar. Looking to put king springs on to lower slightly too. Cheers.

    Sway bar upgrade

Hi, Can anyone tell me the front and rear swaybar specs for VF Series2 6.2L wagon (Calais V) Looking to stiffen up and whiteline (for example) seems incredibly excessive at 26mm solid front (as something tells me oem is 23mm front 18mm rear) I could measure but not sure if they are hollow or...

Where to get OTR and tune

Hey, Recently purchased Calais V (6.2L LS3 option) and wanted to get a OTR and tune. Forums state (mainly this one) that VCM is probably the best and only one to consider for OTR however threads are at least 5 years old. Is this still the case ? Has anyone used APS in frankston they seem ok...
