Yeah I sure do thanks mate. I was thinking if I ended up making them I’d just buy a set of cats and gut em. The insides in them don’t last anyway so who’s to know what happened to the insides
Cheers nah just a pipe to join the headers to the rest of the exhaust to get rid of the cats. We got mandrel bender here that can do 3”, but no car hoist so it’d be a pain in the arse. But if that’s what I have to do i’ll do it, just thought there might be some around ready to go straight in
first anyone know if anyone makes a decent twin 3” cat delete pipe?
Second are there any dealers here for hooker headers, interested in what the best price they can do for 1 7/8 4-1’s for VF ute, both ceramic and no ceramic with shipping to north QLD. There’s a local dealer here but I’m looking...
2014 SS
Adjustable sway bars, links, coil overs
AP Racing brakes
Semi forged wheels
Aerflow fuel system
Blown, cammed, exhaust etc
Bunch of body and paint mods
Does more garage time then anything
Coming from a back ground of building old muscle and rat rods, this doesn’t make a lot of sense. Are you saying you can understand vents if it’s carburated but not injected? Because carby engines need vents to help dissipate heat, but injection engines don’t? Any engine will benefit from any...
Haha yeah I know what you means. I'd be interested in seeing how that setup goes for you. Family and friends keep telling me to build turbo system on the cheap from scratch and just blast my L77 until it lets go haha, must admit I'm very tempted.
Ah damn that's no good mate nothing worse then having the kind of added expense. I once looked into those hx55's, couldn't find a lot of info on their boundaries. What kind of power you expecting to push through it? And if you don't mind, what mods if any are you doing to the 55? They're...
This is probably half my problem too, riding a quick bike as my daily as well, everything feels twice as fast on a bike that you end up needing some serious power in a car to make it exciting
I just don't see the point in maxing out in NA with power i won't be happy with, even if it was half the cost. I appreciate what you're trying to help me see, but I've already played with that kind of power and I'd like to step it up this time. My brother just punched out a 1000hp in his...
I understand where you're coming from, but I've been down that path before and N/A motors just don't do it for me anymore. I've had 500kw at the fly wheel na motors you had to rev the ring out of to get going, and like anything once you get use the power, it gets old. you just can't get the same...
Just a fun toy that I can get in every once in awhile, and if there so happens to be a track meet (strip or circuit) on and business doesn't have me tied up, I'll go and have a bit of fun. Moving bikes from our fabrication workshop will be vary rare.
The easier way is for me to buy a new motor...
Hey smitty is that the mg9 tr6060 trans that they run with the LSA's, or just the standard tr6060? If it's the mg9 version, I'd take that deal with box and motor
Yeah I agree. I really didn't like them before I even put them on the car. I never liked them in the vf2's either. Misses was saying it looked good and I was second guessing myself then
I'll have to see if I can find that article, be interested to see what they actually changed. Might of been the cooling system they used for the blower, probably some front end changes been made on LSA cars for that I'd assume.
Either way the firments not an issue, it's finding a place that...
VF's do have more room under the bonnet over the VE's. An LSA will fit under the bonnet of any VF. Ive got a further 3" of room then normal with the fibreglass bonnet fitted. Any fabrication work, custom fitment or parts that need to be custom made, we can do all that inhouse. There really...
I'll be throwing in the clutch flywheel and coil packs with it. The thing drives perfectly and I'd be happy to take anyone for a drive in it before pulling it all out to give some reassurance. I'll be happy with $4000-$4500, but if I get $5000 then all the better.
Mostly choppers, Bobber's and...
Well the limits the LSA has been pushed to on stock bottom ends and holding both here and in the states has me feeling like leaving the bottom end alone. In that thought, it's going to be a cheaper and easier option. But I still think by the time if you changed the pistons, I'd still come out...
Not to mention also I then have a blower to sell as well to recouporate even money as well. The low kilometre L77 and new LSA blower with all the pulley, belts and injectors would have to fetch 8-10k with out a problem. So this would mean I'd have a free brand new LSA motor to start with instead...
I'm hearing ya. This is something I've been looking at. But the down time will be 10 fold in comparison. While its not my every day ride, it's still needed on the odd occasion for the business to carry bikes or large parts. I've had to borrow utes on a couple occasions in the last 6 weeks while...
That's the plan so far. To work the stock 1900 blower, porting the hell out of it, changing pulleys belts and buying and setting up an external cooler for the blower is going to cost a lot of money as it is. My thoughts are if the new blower and parts can be sold for around $5000, also adding...
Yeah I could be wrong on this but I believe the 10-11k is a price still coming and going. This is the new motors the factory's are pulling out in replacement for the LS9's, so they're less running gear, which is ok for me as it's going into a vf ute which just about everything off my L77 bolts...
First of all feel free to chime in if you see something if be better off using/doing. Been out of the commodore game for about 8 years and I've been catching up on all the new products out there.
In a nut shell this is not my daily, due towork commitments this will only be something I get out...
Mate that would be very appreciated if you could. I can pm you my number to hand to him if it saves you the drama I can speak to him directly. Whatever suits you
I removed the stock series one bonnet. The bonnet in the pic is a full fibreglass aftermarket job. Vents are in a different location to the series two. I think they look a little over done but the misses has half convinced me they look alright. Got to put the bonnet in for paint in a couple...
Can't decide wether to keep the vents on either side of the bonnet. Going to get it painted and I was going to have the holes underneath patched up as it not big on the vents and like the cleaner look. But it's kinda grown on me a little and it'd be easier if I left them. So what do you think?
Vf ute on stands at the moment im doing the works on. All bunch of exterior mods (bonnet yet to be painted just fitted it yesterday) new big brakes suspension wheels tyres fuel system and motor going into it. Thought of doing a thread on here for it, are people stilldoing buildtnreafs on here?
Hey smithy thanks for the reply. I've already got a 6 speed but I certainly wouldn't have a problem buying another for that price. What's the engine on its own go for from there?
I'm north qld but happy to pay freight at those prices
I'm ready to purchase an LSA engine, I've called a number of places but I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone can chime in where might be the cheapest place to buy a new one from? seems to be quiet a variance in price from place to place. Thanks in advance!
Cheers mate, didn't know that about post 08 cars, I'll have to have a better look into that. I did email AGI as they have nothing for them on their website. Been a couple weeks and nothing back so far. I might call them tomorrow
Thanks it's just my business name I did using rubber letters, lots and lots of prep work and some strong arse glue. Had the wheels scrubbed hard on a corner before rolling the cards at speed and didn't even lift a corner on any letter as wheel as the tyre press machine stretch hell out of thee...
I've spent hours searching the web and cant find anyone doing a simple andra approved bolt in cage for vf ute for running in the 10's, for that matter any cage at all for a VF ute.
We have a mandrel bender, so the options there to build one but I got so much work on with building bikes that I'm...
