Those gearboxes are fine, my car makes 177 rwkw and I've also crunched 2nd pretty hard at some very high revs at times, and it hasn't dropped a syncro or a gear.

Got a VR V8 exec with level 2 cluster, instead of patching the loom couldn't you just pull the dash off and swap the exec harness with a calais harness? for plug and play? or would I still have to wire up the wire to go to the computer near the kick panel? but would this mean i need a...

Well I have a VR V8 manual BT1, and as far as I know the diff hasn't been changed so it should be a 3.08 ratio However my car seems to rev on the highway at 100 clicks at 2100rpm.. now if i factor a 3.46 rear end this fits.. Could my tacho be out?

City driving my 5L v8 manual does anywhere from 14-20L per 100. Needs a good tune I reckon. on the highway, I have gotten to adelaide on one tank (722km) & the computer was reporting 10L per 100. This was with 4x extra wheels and two relatively heavy passengers. :yeah::w00t:
