opinion please on chrome grill bars!

Got a 6-piece set for my VY S2 Exec grille a few months ago and I am really happy with them. They have strong double sided tape and once they are on they won't go anywhere. They look good matching with the rear Chrome boot strip on most VY's also.

Approaching End Warranty - Possible Issues?

Ahh yep, suppose it's easier for someone else to give it the once over (aka RACQ). Yeah mines just clocked over to 57,000, so everything should be still quite new and running well. I'm due for a service now (60k was recommended), so yeah I'll look at doing both close together. Thanks guys :)

Approaching End Warranty - Possible Issues?

Hey all, While the "Issues With VY's" has been a valuable resource for finding possible problems with our rides, I was wondering if you guys could give me some final things to look out for just prior to Warranty running out? What I'm basically after is a list of problems and issues I should...

    Pickles auctions

Bought mine through Pickles Auctions in Brissie about 8 months ago - picked up a 2004 VY Series II Executive, 56,000kms, not a mark on it, ex-fleet car and they had just thrown 12 months rego on it for $14,500 :) Insider source told me that around March-June is a good time to buy from Pickles...

Buzzing Noise When Cold - VY S2

Ah cool thanks guys. Yeah didn't seem to be anything to worry about but will have a look for leaks just to be sure. Cheers.

Buzzing Noise When Cold - VY S2

When I start up my VY S2 Exec. in the mornings, I seem to be getting a moderately loud buzzing/whirring noise from the rear. Not too sure where it's coming from exactly, but seems to be around the rear drivers side wheel arch or under the rear bumper. Doesn't happen all the time, and only when...

How Can You Stop People From Stealing Your Rims?

Multiple lock nuts on each wheel could potentially not be a good thing - some brands don't tend to tighten up as well as a regular nut and there is a slim chance it could fall off. ;)

    Lowering VY with IRS

All these opinions are great but opposite sides of the story kinda mess my decisions up lol. At the end of the day people wouldn't be lowering cars within reasonable limits if it was causing problems, and thats what I keep coming back to. :p

    Lowering VY with IRS

Ahh thanks guys, good to know shortened shocks aren't always needed. So basically the IRS won't cause any problems or get in the way, and I should be just on the lookout for a pair of Kings, Lows or Lovells within my drop limits? As I said I'm not looking for a dumped car, just something with...

    Lowering VY with IRS

Hey guys, Just wondering what the process is with lowering a VY (or any model for that matter) that has IRS? I am looking to lower my VY S2 in the next few months and just wondering what I should be looking for (brands, methods etc.), shops you guys have had experience with, how good they were...

    VE SV6 .vs. VZ SV6??

Am I the only one who thinks the VE SV6 looks ginormous? I was at a Holden dealer over the weekend - VE SV6 was sitting right beside the VE SS, and the SS was a good 2-4 inches lower in roof height. I realise the SS is factory lowered more, but the SV6 looked freaking massive just sitting there. :P

    New Holden Remote Key Question

Hey guys, Just a quick question - got a new Holden Remote Key Head cut and programmed last night for my VY, and just wondering if they feel quite stiff, sticky or a bit harder to turn for awhile? I only ask because compared to my now spare key, it takes a bit for it to click into the barrel and...

    Sunshine Coast Coppers !

Yeah, whatever the setup was I know it makes the panels alot larger and therefore why panelbeaters are going to love damaged chasers even more.

    Ride Update

Got the Rims and Rubber for $1500 flat. Budget tyre package was $1360 but went for the Xenon Z1's for a bit of a decent tyre. Really chunky with great treads and large water dispersion channels.

    Sunshine Coast Coppers !

VE's panels are alot larger than in previous models - I believe the front and rear quarter panels are now attached to the inner section making for one huge side panel that slots over the shell. With the influx of coppers running VE's, panelbeaters are gunna LOVE it. :yeah:

    Never Ending Rim Search

Yeah seen those on ebay for a few weeks. To me the prices seem too good to be true for genuines, they are basically half price. I've seen replicas being sold on there for only $200-300 less so it wouldn't suprise me. I would prefer to spend a little bit extra knowing im getting a quality...

    Never Ending Rim Search

I am really liking the AMG Quake DSK's, as seen here: http://www.bobjane.com.au/Wheels/PublicImages/R_KILGANNON.JPG Same colour as my car but in 19"s - gives me a good idea how they might look. I have just come across a post on some forums that AMG Quake DSK's may have been discontinued...

    Never Ending Rim Search

Many reasons but yes mostly to do with legality and being attractive to police for defects and thieves. 18's still fill out the guards nicely and as far as I believe still give a pretty comfortable ride - and of course tyre replacements costs.

    Never Ending Rim Search

Thanks for the reply guys. One thing I was worried about with such an open faced rim like the Photons is that I may have to do something with the brake calipers, be it an upgrade or respray because the gaps between the spokes are rather large. I may look around at some other brands and as...

    Never Ending Rim Search

Yeah I've done alot of looking around, tempe is always a frequent stop heh. As for genuine GTS, VX GTS are probably my favourite rims ever made, and yes its a pity they cost 3-5 grand or else it would be no contest what I would buy :D

    Never Ending Rim Search

Hey guys, Ahh the endless search for choosing rims. Today went and checked out some brands and prices at a friends shop and he suggested a pair of Advanti Photons along with a few other sets. my Vn

Nice ride. I have been quoted a price and told about those Advanti Photon rims on my hunt this afternoon. I have never personally heard of Advanti before and was wondering what your experiences have been with them so far? I was always keen on genuine VY SS, but the price I've been quoted for...

    Installing Monaro/HSV/Commodore Racing Pedals

Price of a 2004 VY Acclaim

Sounds a little expensive. I also picked mine up from ex-goverment auctions. My 2004 VY Series II Executive, 55000kms, mint condition, 12 months rego for $14800 - bout 4-5 grand cheaper than in the yards. :)

    My new ride

Looks wicked now mate. Having the exact same colour but in an Executive, really helps me see what mine may look like in a few months. What's holding me back on wheel choice is I still cannot decide between VY SS or VZ SS, but now that you've lowered it, its making my decision even harder...

Replaced Satin Silver Auto Shifter/Handbrake Covers

Thanks vy_acclaim. Yeah they look awesome, glad I did the upgrade. Took it for a drive and they are solid and securely sitting in flush, and I cannot get them back off again, so I am confident they wont cause me any problems. And yes the only difficult part was removing the old handbrake...

Hey guys, I bought some HSV/SS Satin Silver Auto Shifter and Handbrake Covers over the weekend on eBay and installed them tonight on my VY S2. newbie's VY

Thanks groovy. My baby is a 2004 VY SeriesII Exec. with 55,000kms on it. Picked it up about 6 weeks ago for an excellent price and its in excellent condition. Yeah I am leaning towards 17" VZ SS rims at the moment - I would love 18's but need to weigh up the price difference and running costs...

    newbie's VY

Nice ride mate - same as mine ;) Wheels look pretty good - what are they? I'm still thinking about what treads to throw on my baby - been leaning towards 17' or 18' VZ SS for the sake of keeping her genuine but just a little different.
