there is no such thing mate you got ripped of badly. the alternator is the problem. when the brushes dont touch the slip ring of the alternator then the warning light turn on

In a componet system whats does X-Overs do? also is it ok to have the speakers 6.5 + tweeters connected without the x-overs?

check the wiring you may have the battery light wire touching earth, check from alternator and where it goes into the lume? tell me what you find?
