    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

Cool thanks for that, so sounds like you put in 4.2-4.3L in total? That tallies with everything I've read which says they take between 4 to 4.4L. Interestingly, the service manual I linked says two different capacities in different sections of the manual: But then it also says this:

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

I don't know anything more than what it says in that topic unfortunately. I just wanted to know how much oil my transmission takes haha.

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

This topic seems to shed a bit more light: https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/t56-or-tr6060-hybrid.289787/

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

Yeah no idea how to tell them apart visually. There's probably a way, but they were also fitted to a lot of American GM vehicles - perhaps there were slight differences in the casings for different makes/models of car?

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

Yeah everything I've been able to find seems to suggest early VEs had the T56, and later ones had the TR6060. Regarding annoying characteristics, the T56 is known for notchy gear shifts and mine certainly exhibits that, hence my desire to replace the crappy old ATF with Penrite 70-75 Pro Gear...

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

The owner's manual says refer to your Holden dealer. I'm currently searching the service manual I linked, like I said it's a huge document haha.

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

I downloaded it here - it's a big document: https://www.allcarmanuals.com/factory-service-manual-214-Holden-Commodore-VE.html The guys on the LS1 forum were also saying the early VEs were T56.

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

According to the VE Commodore service manual, M10 = T56. In any case, can anyone confirm the oil capacity for the T56 is 4.4L?

    Changing manual gearbox fluid???

Actually the early VEs are T56, the later ones (from 2009-2010 onwards I believe) are TR6060. I have recently bought a 2006 SSV 6 speed and I understand that it's a T56. Question for you all - everyone seems to say the car has to be level when you refill with fresh gearbox oil. If I have the...

    My VF Jungle Green blackout

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but does anyone know what wheels these are? Are they Koya SF08s? Koyas normally have plain black centre caps, but these look like they've got some chrome writing there?

Post Pictures of your VE/WM here.

Was the condition as described when it arrived? Must have been a good deal to buy one from WA and have it transported to Melbourne.

New beater - MY09 Silver SS

Ah OK, thanks for the reply. I was considering buying an SSV interstate with two sets of wheels but it didn't pan out. The search continues. Love what you've done with the car btw.

Such a gorgeous car, I've gotta get another SSV. How do you find the six speed? My old one was an auto.

New beater - MY09 Silver SS

Random question, but I note that the original wheels came with the car when you bought it. How did you go fitting them in the car? Two in the boot, two on the back seat?

Where is that photo/car from? Looks like a mint original Tahitian Blue over Mercury Silver SL/E.

    Barn Find Vc Sle

The interior, badge placement on the front guards and the front and rear screen rubbers tell me that this car is actually a VB, looks like it's just had a VC grill and bonnet chrome put on it at some stage, as well as VC taillights. Definitely appears to be a VB though, check your build plate.

    Mattys Silver VH SL/E

Just do it in the original silver with original pinstriping etc, will look schmick. Not that many all-over silver ones around either, everyone tries to make their's shadowtone.

    My VH SLE Shadow Tone

Really nice, great choice of wheels, I have V5 Simmons on my VH too. Have you ever considered colour coding them Mercury Silver to match the bottom half of the car? Love the way it sits too, what springs/shocks do you have in it?

    My VH SLE Shadow Tone

Very nice, love the factory looking engine bay and the choice of wheels. Sits really nice too, what springs/shocks have you got in it?

    1981 VH SL/E Commodore

Looks like a VC that has been updated with a VH front, and taillights I'm assuming (can't see that back properly in the pic). It has VC interior, VC bumper bar rubbers and door rubbers and VC rear quarter vents (the plastic vents behind the rear windows). Also looks to have VC style air-con from...

Those wheels are off a VK Calais. There is no such thing as a 'VK SL/E'.

    '79 vb commodore

He says the car is a 4 speed, so it should have a 3.08 diff. 2.78 was for automatics.
