every light on the dash turns on when trying to start with charger even the light on the speed alert and interior light doesnt come on,dont wnat to leave the ignition on trying stuff because theres some pretty f@cked up sounds comin from everywhere.have checked the battery connections and wires...
have checked every fuse and swapped all the relays...what is the relay or fuse i should be concentrating on more if that is the prob tho?
and no lights or anything door locks wont open or close with remote. only time i get any sort of life out of it is when charger is attached and ignition...

had similar prob with brand new battery going dead within a week,but no flames or nuthin.was just the voltage regulator wiggin out, for most of the time the alternator was throwing out 0 volts then every 10 secs or so would go up to 500 volts..didnt wreck anything except the alternator..lucky

sweet ,yeah they old but better than the ones i got now..couldnt get the wheels off anyway they must of been done up with a rattle`gun and the nuts are dug into the alloy rims and are rounded of more now,gunna have to borrow a blow torch or a bigger grinder i think

ive got a vs and im wondering if the front left and right standard discs are the same(not left or right biased?)
ive got a scrap car for parts and need the front left disc for my beast,but cant get the front left wheel off the parts car as the wheel nuts were done up too tight on...
just cause the title of the first one is for the transmission lines,,done that now i need answers to refit the box,plus i wrote this before i got ya reply.

i dont know if its normal but the torque converter is welded and bolted to the flywheel so lining it up that way is hard,weve nearly got the new gearbox in theres just about 10mm all round gap

weve spent about 5hrs trying to remove the auto box from the vs and have it nearly all the way out but cant remove the two cooler lineas on the top/side.
can anybody help??
we went and bought flare nut spanners and still cant get to them properly as it too tight down there,anyone got any...
i'll be changing auto boxes in the next couple of days
and was wondering if there is a gasket between the box and engine??
apart from oil is there any other bits i'll need?
yeah just went through the same thing with the squeaking whinning noise and found that the tensioner was stuffed,making it "bend" a bit out and not sitting straight. got a new tensioner and is all good now,but the first drive the gearbox died so now the tensioners fixed and car doesnt go anyway...

driving today in vs auto,gearbox crapped itself and now has no 3rd or 4th gear..
is it cheaper to buy a reco'd box or have mine fixed?

the other day i went to unlock my vs with the key and turned it the wrong way (anti clockwise)
and the whole barrell turned.
now the doors are all stuck locked,the remote only turns the interior light on and off now.
climbed through the boot to unlock it and all the buttons are stuck down and...

was thinkin/wondering the other day if its possible to modify the exterior door handles on a vs so that you push them in instead of pulling on them,must be sum way? :beer chug:
yeah dont buy one of them chips of ebay with the tacho for the picture i got one for a subaru and all it was,was a 20cent resistor..cost 15 bucks.
instructions said to short sum wire with it,didnt even try it.
i got bit of rust in the vs mostly surface behind the tail lights n under the rear
does anyone know the best way to get rid of it ?
ive cut out a bit and welded in some new steel,but dont reckon its enough.
would getting it rust guarded now stop more from forming anywhere else?
