Sorry the vin is 6H8VSZ19UNL******. I accidentally added 'I' instead of '1', but either way I still get the same response from HSV. It is also painted in Anthracite and according to Wikipedia, apparently only the 5000i models are painted this colour .

Hey Shearer. I have been offered a VQ & old mate who owns it reckons it's 92 VQ HSV stato. The only indication to me that it's a HSV is the badges in the front guards which are HSV8. It's hard to work out whether it's a HSV or not due to fact that it has quite a few recognizable HSV parts...

Yeah put the old flywheel on the replacement motor but still having an issue with rubbing on starter motor housing. Is a manual crankshaft rear end different from a automatic one???? Hence the question about a spacer between the flywheel & crankshaft rear end!!!!!

What swap the flywheel over with the flywheel out of the manual? That just don't sound right, cause it's a manual flywheel!!!

I have already dropped it in the sedan and connected the gearbox, but the flywheel is rubbing on the starter motor housing. Was told that I may need a spacer between the flywheel and crankshaft to prevent this form happening. Is this true?
