VZ Adventura CX6
Hi All,

I'm trying to service my 2005 VZ cx6 Adventura, two things, 1) I can't find the 15mm sump plug at the front of the sump everyone describes in the post's for a VZ Commodore, but the only similar one I can see is a 13mm bolt on the drivers side. 2) I tried undoing it and it's stuck. The 13mm spanner is just slightly too big, but the 12mm won't fit on, so the 13mm starts to round it. Can someone please confirm that 1) I'm trying to remove the right plug, and 2) What to do in regards to getting it out.

Cheers All,

Billybragg.

correct adventra engine sump is different to the standard vz's. you are trying to undo the right plug. make sure u turn it to the left(noob ? i know...) also try using AF spanner. it may be better fit. if all else fails use vice-grips or small set of stilsens. replace plug they cost bugger all.

What about using a non-metric socket, whatever American sizing is called -it might be in between the 12 & 13mm size.

Get a single hex 13mm socket.

Thanks mate, I tried the AF also, it was much the same problem, I have vice nuts, but I don't really want to damage the bolt. I think vice grips will be the go. The only problem is there is no where to get leverage. I'll shoot up to repco tomorrow, hopefully they keep them in stock.

Cheers!

I found you can get those rubber washers for about $1 on ebay, cheaper than going to Holden where they will only sell you a new plug.
