Hi gents, after a while I bought another Holden and love it, as usual with second hand there are faults not noticed at purchase. This one is actually wouldn't be noticed for a while if I didn't go to Canberra at very cold day. So The issue ... passenger side of the climate control set at hot and blowing hot air, driver side set on Hot, blowing cold air, irrelevant which direction airflow pointed, obviously something wrong question is what, or were to start from? Any positive info greatly appreciated:surprise:

While its highly possible its a blend door/actuator fault, you can force the system to run through a reset by holding down the rear demist button with the ign on. You should hear the actuators etc start making noise while it runs through the reset- try this first.

I have tried that, and realised the cooling part on both sides totally gone, air-con works as a fan, and it was cold air from outside blowing in on the open wents, now need to find out is there any refrigerant in the system it is empty(means compressor someway is faulty, and it is mechanical fault or begin diagnosing electrical circuits which sounds like a great fun :bomb:
by the way is anyone knows were is the refrigerant level indicator little glass hole is on WM/VE is?

Best to take it to an A/C specialist. There is no "glass indicator" in the air conditioner plumbing on a WM/VE. The system in these vehicles is somewhat different to past models, e.g. no clutch on the compressor & receiver-dryer inside the condenser.

Is there anyone with helpy ideas.
What I have done so far, took it to airCON (where the CON is a code word) got ripped off $100 for testing, $450 for replacing perfectly healthy compressor and re-gas the system.(Dispute rised with the bank, one very unhappy conman had rang and threatened me to call the police :axe::blah blah::banstick:)
After that air-con stopped working all together, blowing street air. The code came up to replace ECC. Replaced HVAC module $40 from the wreckers and 15 min of my time. Same result air-con doesn't work, Ambient sensor showing correct temperature outside means it is working. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!:idea3:

Update for everyone who will run into the same issue, WM/VE has actuators on both sides, easily replaced, after replaced reset it is required and all problems are gone, aircon is working perfectly. One more thing all 3 actuators 2 on the passanger side and 1 on drivers side are the same, only differ by moving arm which is easily turned around for left or right movement. As soon as I work out how to attach photos will have opened actuator placed here.

Ok guys, going nuts just like all the other horror Aircon stories in these threads.
Story so far.
Condenser had a hole from stone so compressor, condenser/drier, tx valve all replaced, so all but evaporator.

Worked brilliant for a few months then started to get warmer, took back, all they (incompetent) would blame was evaporator. Tho gas still just under full where they filled too, yes! Why didn't they fill it?
So 2nd opioned it and to check gas level to see if had leaked (due to the apparent evap leak) which there was none. Just under full so was topped up, changed some relays around Bam! Back to brilliant.

Then same prob again after a few months, tho this time had noticed the thermo fans not working properly, had gas checked again he said fine, moved around relays again the fans kicked in and Aircon was brilliant again?????

Then month or so blowing hot??? Took to original guys they say compressor broke due to evap leak ??!!?? What!!??

Got 2nd guy to put new comp in an brilliant again?? But same again after a while he checked gas and fans goin prop, but sat idling and was warmish asked why then he says got to rev a bit, I did and yep great again. Didn't drive till that afternoon an hot, I noticed fans not working till car heated then kick in to cool down, I called asked why??now I need new thermo fans??? Didn't go anywhere for a day I had rearranged some fuses and the relays, didn't go anywhere till next day, then when started car, fans come on brilliant cold air even at highest fan setting again, worked like this a few days then had to restart when not on first go to work. Then a few times more then stopped all together again..... Seems like nothing happens when AC button pressed??

At a brick wall! will change fan 400+ bucks but can't rule out relays ??
Anyone with a better understanding of what's going on would be great guys.

Hi, thanks myvessv8.

I've searched, found a few threads. Nothing quite what I'm after. So I'll see if I can find this sticking ac button one. Thanks again for the quick reply.

Great informative site tho, learned a few things already...

Cheers
