10HBA compatibility with AWD X6

Hi guys,
recently got my self in a sticking point, ordered and engine for a customer vehicle, only problem was he didnt tell me it was an all wheel drive version, the engine is rear wheel drive version so I would at lest need to swap out the sump and put the front differential into it. Has anyone tried this ? Are the engines for the AWD the same as the rear wheel drive except for sump and ftont diff ?
If not I have a good second hand engine i bought for the customer that is for sale for what it owes me. it has a start up warranty, bought from Commwreck in canberra.
