1975 HJ Ute

Finally got myself a HJ ute $1500.... Have just taken the 253 out and found that due to an accident there are cracks in the chassis, inlet manifold gasket has fallen apart and some other misc damage.... Unsure what to do with her as yet.... keeping the pink but maybe add some black in there somewhere, just bought a new gear knob a red back spider in resin love it...... What suggestions do you guys have? i have a 308 sittin in the shed but will need a rebuild dunno if i can be bothered..... hmmmm Help me out

A 5L fuel injected its a common conversion for these, an maybe get rid of the bonnet scoop thing, just wrecks it IMO but its your car if you like it then thats all that matters

My suggestion, full resto, that's what it needs.

sounds like you have a plan occuring.

as BV6 has said a full resto would be good.
build it up nice and clean.
and a 5L would go well in that. a guy i know put one in his old (HX i think) ute and even with the 2.89 diff it took off quickly.
