ITEM:
Up for sale is my 1997 series 2 VS statesman. Greg Norman International. Automatic. Navy Blue. Half leather trim seats. Wood grain steering wheel. Rego is expiring 14th September this year. Fully original inside with original stereo and CD player.
It currently has 260,000kms on the odometer and the motor is running great. I have owned it for 2 years and i have serviced it every 5000kms myself. Recent other servicing includes:
-New diff oil - 15,000kms ago.
-Gearbox oil and filter change. 5000kms ago.
-Brand New radiator and hoses - 8000kms ago.
-Brand New water pump - 4000kms ago.
-Brand new heater tap - 500kms ago.
-New battery - 500kms ago.
The car has a MACE chip in it and drives well. I am surprised at how smooth the motor is, i have been using the car every day to get to work and back and the car has treated me well. Starts first time every time.
Fuel consumption is around 14.5L/100kms. I see around 460kms to a tank max.

There is some damage to the passenger side front wheel. I hit a gutter in the wet, pushing the wheel back. The car is fully drivable but when at full lock there is a minor scrape on the inner guard. Going from my mechanics advice the sub-frame is damaged and according to him it will need to be replaced. He quoted ~$1500 to repair (full swap including power steering rack and struts). I am aware that this is an expensive repair so this is why i am selling the car. The damage could probably be repaired for cheaper, but i guess i haven't really asked around - i just got one mechanic to check it.
I may consider getting the car repaired myself. The running gear doesn't seem to be showing any signed of giving up, smooth acceleration and the gearbox is now shifting extremely smoothly after the gearbox oil/filter was changed. I guess if there is no interest i will get the car repaired and re-registered. I am unsure for now.
