I'm looking at get some 20's for the vy now and a mate tells me it will look good but handle like ****.. I can't see it being much different from 19 to 20.. He just says it will handle **** and be more expensive.. The car is my daily driver except the bike some times.. It's on ultras too if that helps.. Looking at getting 20x8 with 225's as well cos I don't wanna roll the guards if I don't have to

well, you're already on ultras and 19s so the ride is probably already shithouse, might as well get 20s. Plus will handle worse with the narrower tyres.

The ride is not too bad.. My vn Calais with 18's and supers was a harder ride.. 245's will need the guards rolled and the wheels I like come in 20x8 or 22x8.5

Depends on the offset of the wheel. Iblown fits 10's under his VS. Not all 20x8 are made the same.

The tire place said the 20x8 with 225 35 20's will fit with my ultras in the ass and no scrubbing and no rolling of the guards.. If I get a different set that's 8.5 with 245's it will have to be rolled... Why will the handling suffer if I stay with 225 and not 245's? The 19's now are 245 and scrub a bit with the 3 kids and big dips or bumps in the roads..

Well put the 20's on today and the ride is not **** but just the same or a tad better than the 19's with same 245's..
Didn't have to roll the guards with ultras in the back either..

Cost: Marginally more (near enough to same/same these days for tires)
Handling: If you put it around a track 20's will probably be slower than 19's but if you are a good enough driver to get the car to the limit of the tires without going over, you would already know that
Ride: Significantly firmer. Don't hit pot holes/railway lines too hard or you can expect a broken wheel.

You'll want to roll the gaurds and get 245 wide tires. The shorter the sidewall the wider the tire has to be to hold the same air and maintain a decent load rating. I don't even know if 20" with a 225 wide come with a rating high enough for a Commodore.

Ended up getting 20x8.5 with 245-30-20 rubber, didn't need to roll the guards.. Just need to get the right off set.
