2002 vx l67 running rough under load and all dash lights on

Runs fine on idle and revs fine in neutral, just seems to surge and lack power under load and all dash lights are on, I've only just bought the vehicle

Probably plugs or leads for the surging. All dash lights on, alternator probably over charging, check voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running. Voltage should be around 14 - 14.4 volts, anything much higher or lower is no good, replace voltage regulator. Overcharging for too long could cause damage.
When you say all dash lights on, do you mean all or just certain ones?
