Sorry to say, he ripped you off big time.

Might be wise before replacing the bushes to ask on here for a place that won't rip you off or search youtube and see if you think you'd be confident enough to do the job yourself
From what I’ve gathered replacing the control arms is a much simpler job than trying to replace just the bushes. I was wondering if it was the same for the other part

Control arm yes simplier replacing as a unit as @Fu Manchu mentioned.

The radius rod bush is a complete unit....Just unbolt the old part and bolt in the new part....Just check out the link and that is the actual unit that gets replaced

Ah I understand now. Thanks so much for explaining, legend.

So that $40 part is what I was quoted $450 for the parts alone for lol

You were quoted $380 for that part and upto 8 hours labour...

Now you understand my comments about getting bent over and hookers... :)

The $450 part was the control arm that @Fu Manchu posted a link to for $89

Ah yes you’re correct. The mechanic wasn’t even looking at genuine parts so I’m very confused where he came up with that

He was working on the you're stupid so I'm taking advantage of you thing.....

Buying through an auto parts store, the price might be a little more than ebay, but definately not $340 more....

By both @Fu Manchu and I posting links up to those parts, you are aware of what they are called so you can ask yourself at an auto parts store and price them for yourself....

I'm not saying you are stupid.....I am here to help prevent you getting ripped off and hopefully have succeeded....

Best of luck and don't hesistate to ask more questions if necessary

Oh and I looked at the youtube video....The only thing he didn't show is, putting that bush back in....It does require the radius rod to be moved round so it allows the bush to slide in square.....Sometimes it can be a pain, but only a 5 minute pain not an 8 hour pain

Thankyou. I know enough to question, just not enough to directly challenge, about this anyway. Probably doesn’t help that I’m a young woman. Now I know enough about this to challenge! I’ll explore how to do it all etc over the next few weeks. Thanks for all your help
