2006 SSV burning alot of oil help!

just an update i actually used castrol edge titanium 5w-30 and would it be safer if i just went and got a compression test then atleast i can rule out rings

I find it hard to believe such a new engine has worn rings.. I mean I know it's an 06 but yea unless it's had an absolute thrashing its whole life with poor maintenance then I doubt it's rings..

too thin oil?

Thanks guys. The car in general is in great condition so who knows I'll do some more checks maybe change oil put maybe a 10 or 15w in

115000 I agree it's low kms for a engine problem already

Yep did that I put 8.3ltrs in about 2 months ago and now almost on low

Even if there is a issue running ya car on low oil ain't gonna help at all if ya know it's low or using oil why did you not top it up when ya first seen it was down on oil ?

I only noticed yesterday and topped it up

Pffft - If it's just using a bit of oil with no leaks or smoke I'd just top it up periodically. Cheapest solution of them all.
