Hi, Looking to purchase a 2012 Calais VE Series 2. Besides the obvious....anything in particular to look for? Should the timing belt/chain be changed around 100,000 klms. Thanks

Hi there. I don't think the VE Series II suffered from timing chain failures like the Series 1. Just make sure you change oil every 5000-10000kms.

VE Calais V Sportwagon
Had my 2011 V8 Calais V sportwagon from new (currently has 180k), haven't had any major issues so far, although the transmission is starting to flair on the down shift from 3rd to 2nd and then shudder into 1st when coming to a stop, but im having that looked at in a few weeks time, service is done every 5-7k ks and I lose roughly about a liter of oil but no more.

The knobs on the IQ stereo facia can get a bit "How ya goin' ".

My neighbours S2 VE Calais hasn't skipped a beat... other than MAF sensor, some coils.
