It will be for a carby. I have been recommended to go through Clive Cams, spoke to them today seemed very helpful, has anyone had any dealings with them? They have a hydraulic cam which is in between the 286 and the 288 which could be a goer.

Clives a good cam grinder, spent most of his working life at Wade during the Bathurst winning years I believe so he will get it right

crane 272 solid is a great cam that makes a very broad powerband.it doesnt need a huge convertor either.2800-6500 rev range 236 246 duration.this cam is basically the same as what they had in the 308 hdt race cars at bathurst.308,10.1comp,good heads, manifold and carby.learning to do tappets on a solid cammed engine is easy as well, dont let that stop you going solid.

the 355 and the 286 make decent power with a good manifold.

mine made 230 at the wheels and a sh!tload of torque with low compression still

some guys with 10.5:1 comp are making round the 260-270rwkw mark

How low of comp you talking? because im running a 286 in my 355 with 8.8 comp and its not making fa power. on a mainline its only making 170 with a tp manifold on a mainline dyno. Im hopeing your calling 9.5 or close to low because if not, then something is seriously wrong with mine

Looking at a cam from clive with these specs 320 lift 236 50" 107 (hydraulic)
Will be running a comp of 10.6:1 and am going to go for a single plane manifold (torquer)
