Hi All,

So I am picking up a 6L SS on Monday, the deal I have with the boss is, I can get an 8 if I sell the ute....
Given the changed Holden are making... with this car gain in value over the coming years...?

Thoughts are, ask a good price (maybe slightly more than its worth) say 3.5k
If it sells.. I got a good price for it
If it doesn't... I let the rego lapse in Feb and play with it over the next 5 years and get it looking like new or at least very good!
5L Manual VS, believe its cam'ed - headers and filter upgraded
Goes very well, never drive it (work car plus family wagon etc) only 224k on the clock

Thoughts? Ideas?

I don't understand why this is even a question.

Put your big boy pants on and tell the boss you are keeping it. If you let the rego lapse it isn't going to cost anything in the short term anyway.

My missus has already acknowledged that I won't be getting rid of mine.

IMO value gain is irrelevant. If it happens it happens.....if it doesn't it doesn't.

At the end of the day you have a manual 5 litre. Life will still be good.

No, not many Commodores will until 30 years down the track. There are almost zero cars that will hold value as an investment.

2000 Vs Ute
If it has sentimental value and you want to keep it, then keep it.
If you are thinking of it as an investment then as said previously, probably not a good idea.

but man, you have a manual 5L VS ute, I know I would keep it and just enjoy it.
Being Biased here, seeing I've always wanted to v8 the current ute but it hasn't been viable cost wise due to trying to find the roller 5L and manual to suit.
