Factory would define whether they are sealed for life or whether they require a fluid and filter change. Cant remember what the schedule is for VE or VF but your service book will define it…So what would you recommend.? Every 10 thou ?
But it’s deemed too long between drinks by many JC members if longevity is what youre after. Many feel a fluid change is good insurance every 50,000kms if not more frequent if you tow…
I prefer a full flush and filter change as the torque converter can hold a large amount of old fluid within. Again views vary and many prefer just a pan drop style fluid and filter change. Regardless, anything more frequent than yje factory specs is better.
Here are some videos of a fluid change in two types of Holden auto transmissions curtesy of an old 2019 post from @Fu Manchu pinched from one of the many auto transmission servicing threads that live within the forum.
