See if u can find some thicker wire.

Will do. I thought it would be a bit weak. I will give it a shot next week and I'll let you know how it goes. I will always try something once and seems easy enough. Do the dials just pull off and would I take them off before the centre trim assembly or after?

Man it's not an easy task getting the radio out. Gotta get thick wire but is there a trick to getting it right?

The whole asm, im pretty sure its held in with 4 screws. Before you do this, you'll have to disconnect the mechanism at the back.

If you ask me how to do this, i wouldn't have a clue. If you can hold out till 5pm this arvo, ill send u the tech docs. Whats ur email?

Problem fixed. I replaced the switch assembly and the problem was still there. Took the car to Holden and had the resistor replaced. All's good after a few hungie bucks :)
