My air con is very temperamental all the time. Sometimes it will work fine on all speeds and other times the fan will not work at all and then just turn on after driving for a few minutes and then might turn off later. When I put it on high it will always come on but will turn off for like 20 seconds and come back on intermittently. Is this a serious problem or could it be a DIY job? Thanks

Check the plug behind the switch seen people not plug them back in fully after removing the dash facia to put aftermarket head units in

Sounds like the Fan speed resistor is on the way out. Can be changed but a fiddly job accessing it under the dash. They cost about $80 ex dealer , cheaper at wreckers. As well check the wiring plugs too behind the dash control unit.
