easy things are often less satisfying to undertake.

the roar from a decent pod filter is well worth the effort to construct a heat shield for it. A tip to making an effective heat shield is to make a dummy template out of cardboard, then lay the cardboard flat, obtain some thin sheet aluminuim, and bend it up into the shape u want it. then go to someone like clark rubber to get some trimming for it to finish it off.

Pod filters are no good on stock VR/VSs.

I have a Redline prerformance filter and VS II S/C CAI, both combined make a considerable improvement in responce, acceleration and power.

Patrio7, agreed, for the very very minimal difference yo d get from panal filter to pod, definatley not worth the money, the difference in air flow would be so little for alot of money and time....

plus the big + for panel filter is it looks stockish so if the boys in blue pull you up and ask for a looksie they wont make a big deal about the pod [unless you go get it certified/permited]

The size of the hole in your pocket...

SS inductions (as I have found out through the wonderful people in this forum) have your 'big mouth' design where as the Holden ones are more flat. But for the price difference, $300 for SS or $70 for the Holden the difference prob isn't worth the 5 tanks of fuel you'll have to sacrifice to get the SS...
