Hey all

I'm thinking of buying two mufflers with twin tips off eBay for my omega v6. The add states there off a stock ve ss so now my question;

Are all mufflers in the ve range pretty much the same ? Or there built different for the v6 and v8 engines ?if If I fit a stock muffler that was on a ve ss, would that make my omega drone a bit or not ?

Thanks
John

The mufflers r different on the auto and manual SS due to AFM on the autos. For a no drone sound on your v6 I'd go the auto muffler. (the twin tips join in as a 'Y' piece where the tips are separately joined to the muffler on the manuals muffler)

Even if u get the mufflers off a manual they dnt drone much at all normal driving or cruising but slightly when you take off
Are you doing it simply for cosmetic look or u want it louder?

i did the very same thing and fitted the mufflers with twin pipes out of each muffler but got bad drone, then fitted mufflers with the 'Y' piece out of each muffler into two pipes and no drone at all and no louder,just what i wanted.

I'm just after the cosmetic look and not to make it louder.

So my best best is to find a muffler off a auto as I don't want a drone

You'll be fine. I did it for the same reason on my SV6 Ute, purely cosmetic. I have an auto and I have the manual SSV rear mufflers on it. I haven't noticed any drone what so ever. The note is slightly different. I did a video for somebody else, not an ideal recording environment, one being it was recorded in a tin shed while it was raining, second being it was recorded with my phone. Might be of some use though.. I picked mine up for $55.00 off a brand new SSV.
