It's time government start regulating and holding these business to account for their actions if they can't put in place transparent systems where people have rights that aren't simply determined by the algorithm and advertising $$$.
I'm getting a little political here but the problem with making the Government regulate these platforms even more is that corruption and censorship will only become more frequent...

Right now there is no regulation and no oversight which in my book is worse. No way for someone to step in and do something about it. Even something like an ombudsmen that people can complain to and who has actual powers to make the platforms do something would be a huge step up and would be more bipartisan too.

As others have pointed out, YouTube's entire report algorithm is stuffed as they pick on certain people and other spam bots, conspiracy theorists are mostly left to roam free on the platform... Somebody like Scotty Kilmer among others who talks mostly about politics, and then promotes dangerous practices should be banned, or at least bought up about it...
Mercians can’t be banned cause it’s their constitutional rights to blather falsehoods, lies and start insurrections… so sayeth the supremes (actually I don’t know what limits if any the supremes have decided but if the last few years should have taught every Mercian, falsehoods lies and spruiking insurrection are all fair game and seemingly constitutionally protected).

It’s one fcuked up country where in some states it’s legal to carry a gun but it’s illegal to carry a non lethal taser :p

What we are experiancing is social media causing the end or any real democracy :(

The only saving grace, hopefully, is that Musk may unwillingly kill twitter which is one less POS social media platform. Can only hope that all others suffer the same fate…

Elon Musk is stepping down from the CEO position of twitter....

They had a vote via twitter and 57% (or 5 or so million) users voted he step aside, so he is considering or actually doing it

When Musk bought twitter he said that he’d step aside once the company was moving in the right direction and it was all provisional on finding someone that could take the helm and continue with his vision.

Now he’s run a poll and said he’d abide by the twitter vote but didn’t specify a time frame, so it’s a non event really. Really, I’d guess he was simply wanting an ego stroke but 10 million of the 17.5 million users said he should leave so it probably didn’t go the way he expected :p

The bigger issue is that he’s supposedly not paying his rent for twitter HQ and also having issues with refinancing the twitter loans… but he’s crazy rich and recently sold another wad of Tesla shares. So to be honest, sadly, I doubt twitter will go under. Tesla or SpaceX (especially SpaceX) are rather profitable ventures. .
