99' Series 3 VS S-Pac Ute.
I have said it once and I will say it again, Alloytech's sound like someone making a fart sound with their mouth in an empty baked bean can.
This mechanic is on the money.

I'm going to take that as a "That is a horrible and stupid idea and will make you wish you had left it quiet."

So the best idea at the moment would be to go for the 2.25" twin catback X-Force exhaust?? Without changing cats or adding extractors (illegal for P platers)

Give the exhaust guy in my signature a PM. He's pretty cluey when it comes to exhausts and has a good ear for what sounds decent (although sound is subjective)

Why would you want to spend a lot of money just to get a different sound? sounds crazy to me. I say this from experience, and it's likely you will regret it.

Do you have any ideas for a cheap alternative. What exhaust do you have?? Or do you have a full exhaust system now??

Plus the main reason I would get an exhaust is for the noise...

v6's will always sound pretty average mate... putting a twin 2.5 on a stocko v6 is the worst thing you can do for sound in MY opinion (and im a v6 owner).

I'll throw my vote behind sourcing a second hand twin 2.25 gen 3 hsv exhaust and leave out the rear muffler. I bought a full hsv system for $100. Will give it a noticable note but wont have the fart in a milo tin sound that the alloytecs get with big pipes. The hsv system is stainless too

I used to have a twin 21/4 on my alloytec and was really happy with the way it sounded.

It wasn't too loud and it dindt drone at all.

After I while 6 months or so I got extractors which made the tone deeper which was better.

Then now Iv got a twin 21/2 stainless xforce, still sounds good but can get a little to much drone when you put your foot down but when it's idling or at cruise speed its sounds sweet.

I have a few vids on YouTube if you'd like to listen to what they sound like and the difference.

I'd say go for the twin 21/4 with the rear muffler ofcourse.
But anything over $500 including the tip and labour is abit too much.

Good luck.
Cheers
Dave.
