I'm with VE055 on this.... unless you like music loud and really freakin loud, the TypeS with an amp up their bums will keep you rocking quite well. 250wrms into a sub designed to take 250wrms is a lot of bass. 250 wrms into a sub designed for 600wrms is not a lot of bass. I have a general rule of thumb (which I admit I break on a regular basis) Supply the sub with total of all four speakers and you can't go wrong and should be well balanced.

Cheers for the info bud. Yea I'm more than likely going to go with the Type S setup.

I have the Type S setup in my VE, just that I went for a slimline sub.

Very good gear, and a very good price. You won't be disappointed.

I can't stress enough how much you need an amp, though!

Have you got the same amp as above in the picture mate? The V70

Yes! :)

It's definitely loud enough for me. I can't go much past 28-29 without my ears bleeding. :D

Oh no worries. How do you find the type S sub, nice clear bass?

Disclaimer: Pardon my BAD audio terminology.

I bought a different slimline sub, as I need as much boot space as possible.

I wouldn't say the speakers are hugely bassy, per say. They are more punchy.

My sub takes care of most of the bass.

The speakers are very loud, and the clarity is very nice.

Trust me, the stereo you're planning will definitely shake the boot lid, rear vision mirror and you'll feel vibration in the steering wheel.

Go into an audio joint before committing, as this system might not be enough, or it'll be an overkill (doubt it).

Do it once. Do it properly.

No worries mate thanks for the reply. I've ended up going with the 2 amp type R system, it's getting done on Friday and I can't wait haha.

They've been helpful so far. Going to get them to upgrade the 'big 3' while its in there. Done a bit of research and it makes sense.
