I recently purchased a V6 wm statesman and unfortunately the alternator is dead I was wondering if any of the older models fit it as I have access to a vy alternator for cheap thanks

VE and VF use a smart alternator which is controlled by the BCM/ECM and not by a simple wire from the battery like the earlier dumb alternators.

So the answer is no, an earlier dumb alternator won’t work in a VE or VF
