Alternator - will it fit?

Ahhh so thats standard.

No wonder the amp clamp was giving weird results under load at the battery terminal, the juice the alt was putting out is being used before hitting the clamp.

I was getting 11-14 amps no load. Then 6amps with load.. that was confusing until i realised (where dat cable goin???) Put the clamp on that... juice.

I'm re-wiring mine. I'm running the charge cable from the alternator back to the starter main cable which goes back to the battery along the subframe and then a short cable from the battery to the main fusible link. This cleans up the main loom that runs over top of the front of the motor.

I bought a 120Amp JAS aftermarket unit from SparesPro online to go into my VK 308. $290 Part # ANB230. Just had to chop off 1 of the mounting legs for it to fit. Big difference from the old 55Amp unit, no more dimming dash lights or head lights when I put the indicators on when driving at night :)
