Altezza rear light problem vt v6

I have just recently changed my standard rear lights in my vt executive i put altezza rear lights in and the left side tail light does not work the brake light light works but the tail light doesnt it is the same light?? The left reverse light did not work but i had a read of a few forums and it said i needed to run a wire from the right side to the left i found the reverse wire (green) and ran a new wire to left side works fine now! Is this the same with the tail light????
