Hi wood expert/s,

Just wondering if anyone can identify this type of wood for my father in law? All we know is it's for floorboards and it's possibly the type "tongue in groove"? Or something along those lines

Any and all help appreciated

LOL that picture is hilarious. They're not floating but the proper floor boards that snap in... ah I guess it's hard to work out anyway, will just sell as unknown lol

Yes floating floor does float, it isn't nailed or glued down. Almost all boards now days are tounge and groove.

It's hard to identify them while they are laid, especially if they have been down a long time which means you can't use colour to help.
Looks like either black butt or iron bark to be honest, not that I'm an expert just from dealing with it through work.

lol admin. Sorry if this message board has a bit of personality. It's hilarious to watch the same people who rake this board with a fine-tooth comb, turn around and complain about the "granny state" and infringing on personal freedoms in other threads.

I wonder if we use this power just for the sake of using it, or because someone really could be hurt? :) If it's for the latter, then I apologise to all those people whose lives I have destroyed by posting a funny picture.

Meanwhile, yes, they look like tongue & groove floorboards, but it's hard to tell.

looks like mixed tounge and grove flooring, with a gloss clear.
bit hard to tell with the pic, and if he trys to match it wont work.
due to age differance on the floor. if that makes sense.

Do they have a slight edge on them? a little bevel between each one?
