anyone had there ve software updated and how much did they charge

If you get your car serviced at a dealer, its classed as a 'factory recall' and done for free while its there.

Only if its a required update, ie the car has a fault.

it freezes up sometimes, doesn't play well with my iphone occasionally or doesn't show any track I.Ds after i end a call. So would that be classified as 'fault'?

So if i have a fault with the car OUT OF WARRANTY- and there was a factory fix for the fault,i can take the car to get the software updated free of charge? (irrelevant of KM and age of vehicle) This is what your saying?

The only repairs that are done free of charge out of warranty are safety related recalls.

I would say ESP is directly relating to occupant safety. So this should be free.

Not always, for example ESP issues can be caused by a buildup of debris on the encoder ring of the rear wheel speed sensors which would be considered owner charge

Thats owner charge. But out of date software/incorrect ESP software is directly connected to occupant safety i beleive.So if i call up holden tomorrow and say your ESP software is incorrect/out of date they should update it for free.

Good luck with that. Like I said if it isnt a recall, it wont be free.
