Hi,

I've been given a really good offer on a 2015 VF Storm. Is there anything I should be looking out for ?

Thanks.

Power steering recall / service history
Interior damage from air con leaks in cabin and door seals
If SS
  • 6.0 engine is sensitive to lubrication so check oil and filter change interval and type of oil used
  • Test LSD function of stock diff (wears out quick)
If SV6
  • Timing chain noise / longevity depends on lubrication history
  • Signs of poor engine oil quality / sludge in PCV lines

It has 59,000kms on it, any of these happen close to this mark ?

Distance travelled does affect resale but is no indicator of use / service history over time. More km better serviced is better than short trips sitting for a while etc. That's typical km coming on for three years so yeah problems appear like a bathtub curve - high failure first 25% of life good run until 170k km then serious overhaul. Else likely failures / dead within last 25% of its life.

Alright thanks mate :) spent some time going over the recalls, seller confirmed all had been rectified where applicable.
