Just wondering if I can use 10 bolt diff gears in my small Salisbury diff?
I have the small 2.78 diff at the moment and i'm looking for 3.36 gears for it.
Thought i'd ask here first before doing anything.
Thanks.

No. Sizes are completely different. 10 bolts only fit 10 bolts, 8 bolts, 8 bolts etc

No. That's sort of like asking can you bolt a 4 stud pattern wheel onto a 5 stud pattern axle:rofl2:.

Smitty to the rescue!
So I can put Banjo gears in my diff?
There's a set of 3.36's on Ebay at the moment. I'll snap them up?

Only reason why i'm sticking with the small diff is because of originality. I do have a VL V8 diff sitting in the shed though..

The diff hemisphere is larger and stronger than the banjos. So when the spider gears pin snaps, it can easily get out pass the crown wheel and hit the pinon gear. This causes the back wheels to lock up.I have had it twice where the pin snapped, didn't make any noises then later on come out and hit the pinion gear.Once when doing a 100 kph down the freeway and the other time pulling up to a set of lights.
