Yeah what a joke. One of those things where accidents ruin peoples lives.

I'm fairly sure I signed a petition a while ago about this.

Bloody stupid organization of the event with no barriers to protect the crowd or anything.
Poor guy, i think living with the fact that 6 people were killed is enough to deal with without having these bull**** charges hanging over his head.

i also think the organisers should have been charged.

however it's gotta be said - when he showed up and saw the road lined with kids and parents, he could have shut off the engine and told the organisers he wasn't going to drive. he took the risk and it was obviously a risk.

everyone is accountable for their decisions. a court would apply the test of reasonableness - was it reasonable to turn around and go home? i think a lot of people would say it was. that would land Troy in trouble.

having said that, i feel really bad for him.

Good point, also the same could be said in regards to the spectators.... They could have walked away.

a lot of them wouldn't have known what he was going to do. i imagine the court case will come down to that point - the organisers will no doubt say they had no idea he was going to drive like a maniac, etc.

He didn't drive like a maniac. He did a burnout in a drag car. The organisers would have known what a burnout in a drag car was like!
