is it a good idea to fit an extra cooler to my VX auto... i live in outback QLD and it gets quite hot here in summer....

The stock auto cooler is perfectly adequate...especially for an NA Ecotec.

you mean the radiator ?... auto oil pipes connect to radiator...

theres a chamber to one side of the radiator used for the oil cooler

There is also a stand alone auto cooler in front of the radiator (behind the grill nostrils), thats the one I was referring too ;)

lol yep.

I dont think you'd any better cooling. It gets damn hot in Brisbane too, especially sitting idle in traffic jams.

Should be on all 4L60E auto V6's from VT onwards (also 5L & Gen3 fitted with 4L60E trans). VS models had problems with people towing without sufficient cooling and there were some incidences where trans fluid was pushed up and out the trans dipstick tube and onto the exhaust manifold causing fires. Holden recalled that problem by fitting locking dipstick caps and insisting that a tow pack be fitted if the owners intention was to tow with the vehicle. From VT models onwards the locking dipstick cap and trans cooler came factory fitted.

And heres silly old me thinking that that one was the power steering return oil cooler.
