VT V6 series 2 no turbo or SC.
Replaced belt tensioner just on 5 years ago (60kms since then).
Tensioner has has three markings close together on the edge of the face and fourth mark a bit further around.
An arrow mark is on the circumference casing.
The fourth mark on the face about matches to where the arrow on the casing is.
Its been a while so does this mean the tensioner is worn out?

That is a belt wear indicator.

Which indicates the tensioner is worn out?

When it no longer holds tension on the belt.
Or when it's not bouncing as it should slightly when the engine runs.

You can see the 4 etch marks on the fig above. Does anyone know which of these marks ( when aligned with the arrow mark on the casing) means the belt tensioner is near or completely worn out. Pls focus on this specific Q.

You are asking the wrong question.

Those marks are belt wear indicators.

Take the belt off, does the tensioner suddenly loose tension when it passes the last mark ? I'm 100% certain it does not.

As stated above, those marks on the tensioner are belt wear/stretch indicators.
The belt tensioner idler pulley bearing will wear out before any other part of the tensioner assy will fail.

Best I can tell those marks are not about belt wear but the tension left in the tensioner spring. As the spring wears the face moves around indicating the extent the spring is worn.
