Hi guys is this wheel fixable?

Wrote off the tyre and bent my rim on a gutter that was sticking out. :hit: A mate has said I should just get a hammer and chock of wood to wack it back
into shape. Is this advisably or should I get it fixed by someone? Any cheap places sth east melb that would do it?

Your mates advice is probably the stupidest thing you could do with the wheels, he must drive a vn.
Professionaly get it fixed for peace of mind and safety..

Any wheel shop could send it off to fix it and balance it back up. Just ring a few places to see how much and how long.

I had a wheel re-rolled which had similar damage, came back better than new.

Most wheel repairers will be able to sort it out.

Even if the band could be rolled straight, the gutter rash isnt going to buff out.

You need to weigh up the cost of repair vs replace.

PM me if you need a supplier.

retro wheels in sydney if its 16" and under, buy a replacement lipand get it rebuilt.

if its over 16", you can try tempe tyres, as theyre doing 17" and up simmons stuff nowadays, but good luck with getting a single barrel from them.

failing that, whitehorse industries will spin up a new lip, but will need someone to drill the holes, as they dont.

Took to advanced alloy repair and they said they cant fix it. Suggested a place in richmond that would unbolt the middle star section and replace with new bolts and new outer rim. Sounds expensive. They suggested finding a single one on ebay would be cheaper.

Has anyone had experience with bent simmons rims before? My mate thinks I should just try knocking it back with a piece of wood and hammer. If it is going to be replaced it cant hurt to try right?

any advice much appreciated thanks
