Hi i was doing a clutch replacement, i removed the 2 small bolts under the gear lever thinking i needed to so i could drop the trans, and now when i try to replace the 2 small bolts i cant change gears. As if the bolts are in the way or the black plastic is in the wrong spot. should the gear lever ball be inside the plastic? im stuck.
photos attached.

Please help

Mitch

vs commodore
I thought you just removed the shifting rod from the gear box not the shifter. I would imagine you need to rotate the plastic to line up with the slots.
