well well well i learnt a good lesson.
the head unit was a piece of chinese dog S** that is useless, (NOT JVC)
i installed it with a bit of help from the guy from alberts.
so iv sold it off on ebay (poor sucker who bought it)
bought:2 CORDLESS DVD HEADPHONES 2 HEAD REST DVD MONITOR 1 set STEREO SPEAKERS 1 JVC DVD/CD PLAYER HEAD UNIT.
dont ask why i bought the head rests with dvd players and head phones ( i will sell them asap)
the subs are still on their way from who knows where in the world. will arrive here in the next fornight.( i hope)
then HAPPY DAYS

well thought id give an update of the upgrade.
this week at work we had a new work experience kid. he turns out to be some noob at carpentry but a wiz on car audio. i got chatting to him and he reckons hes got heaps of stereo gear lying around. so i bought some
got a single din dvd head unit (soundstream)
1000w monobock amp to power my subs (boss audio)
4ch vpower amp to power my new speakers (alpine)
all for $550
so STILL waiting on the subs to arrive... hopefully by the time i get back from the gold coast next week.
then i gotta cut up some boxes and i will be giving alberts cannington a call to book the install.
anyone knows how much it might set me back to get this all fitted? its a alberts and they are pretty good but pretty pricey iv heard.

FINALLY after about 8 weeks of driving around listening to nothing but pure engine and road noise my install is in 
i took up zac's offer for prouters and he installed it with a mate on saturday.
he did a great job as he is very experienced with taking a part holdens at his work and his mates an auto sparky. he took some pics on the day but hasnt uploaded them yet. thought id whack some up.
still need to change the subs as i havent recived my alpines yet so i chucked in some freebie kenwoods.
next weekend im carpeting my whole tray so i will carpet the sub boxes too
im not really gonna be playing dvd's on it.. at all... shitty pic of the screen from the flash but you get the idea

Wow man, come along way.. looking awesome man. Can you give me a price for the hard top? Would of look even better if you got it lowered a little bit more so it tucked under the guard.

i got it for 1700 with the sail plane. it was yellow so i got it painted. a guy off another forum had it.
i recommend you hit up proutes.com mate
