this is what mine looks like now after converting the ac controls and cluster. Had some blue neons attatched also (switch on dash). Looks 10x better with a blue head unit, mine is pioneer deh-p7750

Did u use the T5 LEDs in ur cluster?????

i used 5mm (10,000mcd) with 560ohm resistors. All i could get at the time. Not sure if this is bad using leds that strong, will they blow easier...anyone???

this is wat i was told about LEDs:

red, yellow, orange LED
510ohm resistor needed

white, blue, green, UV LED
430ohm resistor needed

if you use 430 ohm for red, yellow or orange led with 12VDC supply,
intensity can be boosted up, the drawback is much shorter led life,
sometimes, led will be burnt out.

On the other hand, if you put 510ohm for white, blue, green or UV leds,
intensity will be lowered (sometimes with color bias), in other words,
the intensity of the LED cannot be fully utilised.

Golden rule, use suitable resistor (designed for individual voltages) to
different color of led.

besides that how many LEDs did u put behind ur cluster??

As far as resistors to use with the LEDs.. look at the info for the LED's. They tell you ideal voltage to be pushed through which is generally ~ 4volts (by memory). So a resistor to lower voltage from 12v to 4v is what you need, it has nothing to do with colour, it has to do with ideal voltage - which could be as you mentioned, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

I used sandpaper on the back of mine. Used it only on the specific markings and numbers where it used to light up green. The sandpaper that I used was a fine grained type. Bought it from autobarn in the spray paint section.

It takes a while but the slower you go the less likely you will stuff up.

I didnt take the green off mine.
I just put the blue leds in and it worked fine.
The aftermarket dials have green paint on them too :( I was trying to get a clear one so i could have it light up white with blue pointers, but no luck.

Heres the pics wrx884. (i found my tripod so hopefully i can get some better non-blurry pics soon)

Well I've scratched all the paint off the back of the fascia and managed to separate the arrows and the rest with red/blue

have a look, I think it came out quite nice

I like that you left the red.
I wanted the red to stay on as well, but decided not to wait any longer and just have all blue for now.
in a couple of months its going to be able to change from red to blue to green with a button. and also mix colours to make purple, orange ect.

I like yours better than mine :)

THere are LED's with 3 legs, that are able to change to 3 different colours, 2 pos 1 neg, as far as I know,

Red/Green/Blue

They're more expensive and harder to solder, more cramped space, but when its finished, top results, at a flick of a 3 way switch you can have 2 diff colours! :) or wire it however you want it! :)
