It may have changed.. But I picked up cover for my SS first when I was 27 through AAMI. I already had a policy with them from the previous car, but they had no issue with anything and it cost me around $1800 then from memory. That's with full no claim.

wow the ve is well built!! and the other bloke was lucky you wherent in anything else, ie land cruzer with a big bloody bull bar!!.. and as for insurance i would say go with AAMI, i use to go with NRMA then a mate talked me into AAMI when he had probs with NRMA when he had a clame, where as his mum had a breaze with AAMI, anyway long story short, i get a quote with NRMA for $3750 (21, v6, high risk area, and that was with a with a few of there "discounts") AAMI quoted and i ended up paying $1030 including windscreen cover!!

You guys pay way too much for insurance. And it drops at 28? Wtf?

Most companies here drop at 25, a couple at 21. I'm paying 1200nzd a year for full insurance in a vy ss with me (22) and gf (19) named on the policy, would be 850 if it was only over 21!

Did you manage to get many pics off your camera? Would be interesting to see them.

Young guys over here pay for the mistakes of their peers, big time. I was astonished at the sort of money my son was expected to pay for insurance on his VZ Acclaim wagon, when he was only 24. He's just crossed the threshhold now to 29, so his insurance has taken a dive.

its so crap tho, when i got my first car (2000 holden vectra) i just turned 19 and i was quoted 3900 for full cover, i paid 4200 cash to buy the car? go figure that one out????

Well i am 40 and pay $550.00/yr for full Comprehensive and with Rental Car Cover. It does seem the under 25's have it tough in the Insurance market.
