The only reference that l could find was for 4&6 speeds.
Stop start driving, excessive idling
or low speed operation as experienced in inner city driving.
The examples were taxi's, door to door deliveries and police.
Caravan or trailer towing
Extended heavy load, high speed operation in outside temperatures
above 35°C.
In the above circumstances they recommend trans fluid and filter
change every 75,000.
The actual maintenance schedule states that trans fluid and filter changes are not required for 4&6 speeds under normal driving circumstances.
Cheers.
I have 3 'service supplement' handbooks for L77/LS3, 6L80e drivetrain combo's. All state 150k fluid and filter change.
They're not taxi's, no excessive idling, no towing and bugger all stop start driving.
Two of them have quite large OEM external trans coolers.
I can monitor the trans temp. on the Maloo via the EDI. In a freeway traffic jam on a 40° day the fluid temp didn't exceed 85°.

My service booklet for VE&WM states that these fluid changes are not required under normal driving conditions. Even the 150,000 one that you refer to is not required under normal driving conditions.
Hence the sealed for life remark.
Having said that ours was changed at 80,000ks. 10/10 for fitting the trans coolers, one of the best things you can do to ensure longevity.

The coolers were standard fitment on the Maloo and Magnum.

Things must have changed with series 2. MY12, MY12.5 and MY17 are all the same.

Isn't yours a manual? MSE and Magnum manuals have a trans cooler.
Haha, yes I was joking. Didn't realise some manuals got coolers, how does that work? Is there a pump?

Even though p13 shows an x at 150,000 the footnote says that it isn't required under normal driving conditions.
