The starter is fine.

You may have a bad earth or positive connection on one of your terminals so check them really well.

Also check where the wires are connecting to the starter motor and the engine block.

They might need a clean

but if it starts with a jump start wouldnt that rule out the starter motor? and why all of a sudden did it happen when i took the battery out to charge, tried another battery and still no good.

If the battery is drawing too many amps the the jump starting battery might be just compensating enough for it to start so yes the starter still could be stuffed

if i earthed the battery to another car using a jumper lead and it started would that mean it is an earth problem? ill replace both battery terminals. stuupid ford
