What rules do you guys use to rate cages? With the engine going into the ute that should be a 7 second car easy, will that cage meet the requirements for certification for that sort of time/speed?

ANDRA specs for sub 8.000 is a 6 point welded in cage with no removable elements (meaning of the 6 point cage, so can have removable door bars).

He does an ok weld.
Turned out good enough.

Was it welded in? I don’t think so? Of course, if it isn’t, they can weld it in once everything is done I guess.

It was welded in.
They had welded in foot plates that the tube slid into, then welded in to those.

It's not much cage for the speeds they will be running.

I'd add more bars just to stiffen the chassis a bit more.

Not going to add much rigidity adding more bar work to such a small cab. What’s there now is ample to keep the occupants safe.
Would be more beneficial welding in chassis connectors.

It needs a couple of bars going back to the tray.

I’d get an extra bar in there if I got to drive it when it’s finished.

Correct, issue is when doing it as a drag challenge style car I'm not sure the legalities or how much attention you would get with penetrations through the rear bulkhead.
