Center speaker GONE!!!

I have just disconnected my center speaker in my VE Calais and man, words dont discribe how much better it is.
When it was connected, I thought the system sounded normal (like any car would)
But after removing the speaker, it sounds so much better (still, its a standard system so its not that good) But i highly recommend it to everyone...

where is the centre speaker and how hard a job is it to do ??
Did you remove the speaker totaly or did you just disconect the wires??

It's been recommended to do since the VE first came out 4 yrs ago. Cheap and easy way to make the system sound better.

oh and i just remembered, you can get gauge pods to fit in there instead, in case you're into that

on the top of the dash, riht in the middle under the metal grate.
Its an easy job, and yes you just disconnect the wire and leave the speaker there.

there are a few posts about this, and so far from what i can gather, your better off just having a normal set-up (speakers in the doors and tweeter) read this thread http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/car-audio/82634-centre-dash-speaker-ve.html

Also, the main reason I was doing it, is because Ive ordered some VE HSV R8 gauges to replace the whole section

It seems very odd, if there is no benefit with this particular center speaker, then why would Holden waste the money putting one there at all?

Also, is this true for all VE Commodores or only those built in particular years?

Its just a gimmik, to say "hey we even have a center speaker" but what they dont say is that it makes it worse.
Are you asking if all models have the speaker, or does it make a improve the sound in all models?
If it has a center speaker, its better with out it!!
