im sure this has been mentioned but i need to make 100% clear.

I am replacing my STD springs in my sedan with FE2 and the guys at holden are telling me that i need to buy new tension bolts because the old ones will brake as i get them out.

Which bolts are these 'tension bolts' and do i need new ones if all i am doing is replacing the springs

cheers

You're better off to replace them, although i got mine out without any problems but i still replaced them anyway. Also you might want to check your strut bushes, if you haven't already replaced them they'll probably need it.

Bolts are about $30 for the job from memory and that's from holden. Don't use genuine strut bushes, go poly ones and they're around the $130 mark for the front ones.

You will need a spring compresser (SCR?) to
remove/install the front springs.
You should also use a torque wrench-
many of you may disagree.
And a good quality half inch socket set of course!

Mate, i would just change the springs and be done with it. The less you listen from holden mechanics the better.
