Christ, tonight is just gut-wrenching. They've already built the last ones.

Completely agree mate, we've just had our hearts torn out through our chests. There's no way in hell I'll ever believe that a first world country such as ours couldn't support a car manufacturing industry. I'm just destroyed :/

I'm just lost for words boys. The last time I fellt like this was in 2006, when I heard the news about Brockie. I know nothing compares to the loss of a human life. Especially someone as endearing as P Brock. But, this is as close as it gets for me. Just gutted.
Nothing more to say that hasn't been said before.
RIP to our beloved Holden. Good luck Australia beyond home grown manufacturing. Over and out

No more Holden’s I’ll be mourning tomorrow not with a road trip in in my SSVR but Ballarat to Geelong in one of works Evoke wagons, one of the last Commodores in our fleet. Lucky I have admin rights on our fleet system and switched out of a Camry.

i always thought holden would be around making cars, never dreamed they would close down manufacturing.
our pollies need to be strung up , they always put other countries interest first before ours.
thats the end of holden for me, what a waste, holdens production lines , presses, robotics will be snapped up and put to use in asia.
and the government complains the welfare bill is to high. i wounder why:(:(:(

It’s a travesty. I’m speechless, feel like I’ve lost something in my life.
The many Australian built new car lead ups including media rumours, sneak peeks, media releases etc that I’ve enjoyed through life are no more. How I loved “being involved” in the next new Aussie built car, whether it was a Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford or Holden (or even a Nissan etc). The future feels empty.

Unfortunately the cause was bigger than just the governments inaction.
Yep, people stopped thinking for themselves and bought ******* SUV's instead..
