The heater core looks like this Heater Core Holden Commodore Statesman VN VP VR VS V6 OR V8 5LT | eBay
its all one unit but the feed and return pipes (which are welded to the core)run up under the back of the dash anyway thats what you get from the wreckers when you ask for a VR/VS heater core
I paid 45$ for mine and a new one locally was 150$
footnote the radiator part of the heater core is what leaks and whilst its reparable it cost just as much as a 2nd hand one....
